ULS is for vibrant young minds interested in personal growth and leadership development. It is a unique opportunity for youth to learn the transformative 7 Mindsets and how to make a meaningful impact on their community.

The student experience is explicitly open to NEW students who have previously attended ULS. Alumni may explore and apply to our other programs designed to facilitate their continued involvement (more details coming soon).

This profile will help ensure a dynamic and enriching experience for all.

Student Profile

Age and Language:

Rising sophomores in high school through recent high school graduates (age 15-18) and fluent in English. We will review applications of younger students on a case-by-case basis. We encourage younger students to consider waiting to apply until they have completed one year of high school.

Engagement:

ULS is a high-energy, multi-sensory environment with music, videos, and interactive activities. Students are expected to be attentive to speakers and be willing to engage with other attendees. ULS is also a learning environment, so personal phone use, checking social media, and gaming are prohibited during sessions.

Self-Management:

All students are responsible for managing their time effectively, including waking up independently, arriving punctually for early morning starts or meals, getting enough sleep, cooperating with roommates, communicating with Summit Guides, and managing personal hygiene.

Collaborative:

While not every attendee needs to be an extrovert, collaboration with others is required. Students must be willing to work in groups and open to connecting with peers from diverse backgrounds.

Developing Leader:

Attendees are generally passionate about personal growth and development and the drive to impact their community positively.

Post-Summit Engagement:

Willing to complete a project after the summit that connects to attendees’ passion and possible needs in their community.
